Fight like a Pharaoh! Exploring Bronze Age Swordsmanship in Ancient Egypt

“The Khopesh, ancient Egypt’s most iconic weapon.
Said to have evolved from the crescent axe of the Middle Kingdom or was introduced into the region from the Near East it quickly became synonymous with divine power and Pharaoh’s right to rule. Made of bronze with a short curved blade, the khopesh , is optimized to ‘smite with edge of the sword’ but also presents unique features that allow for hooking and manipulating shields. In this course we will explore the full potential of the khopesh as an elite battlefield weapon!”
