Intergender Fight Dynamics

Intergender fight scenes are becoming more and more common across many types of media. With that in mind actors, actresses (or any other identifiers) of all experience levels may be put in a scene involving physical altercations among male, female , or any other identifying characters. In order to tell a story through violence, there are many factors that performers should take into consideration when showing conflict between men and women. This class will explore several factors such as:

Physical and psychological difference between the “performed” genders
Sexaul tension (and why it doesn’t always need to be present)
Communicating real life trauma with a scene partner
Working around personal boundaries
