Spanish Masters of the 18th and 19th centuries began to explore the techniques and concepts of the French and Italian schools of fencing, and integrated them with the established theory and techniques of La Verdadera Destreza de las Armas, the True Art and Skill of Weapons of Spain. This system was known as the Mixed Doctrine of French, Italian and Spanish fencing. In this class we will explore the way in which these Masters reorganized these methods into one cohesive system of fencing, and applied it with various weapons of their time. Participants may use a French or Italian foil, saber, rapier, or smallsword.
Required Equipment: 3-weapon fencing mask, fencing jacket, glove, and any of the weapons listed in the description.
