Beau Brock

Beau Brock began his study of historical fencing while undertaking his MA in Romance studies at the University of British Columbia in 2006. In 2008, he moved to Toronto to work on his PhD in French linguistics, where he also started training at the Academy for European Medieval Martial Arts (AEMMA). In 2010, he achieved the rank of Free Scholler (instructor), and teaches classes on Fiore, Italian rapier, and the spada da lato, according to the Anonimo Bologneseand Giovanni Dall’Agocchie. In addition to finishing up work on his PhD, Beau and another Free Scholler are currently working on a translation of the former’s manuscript, which they hope to have available within the next year.
