Carol Wolf wrote the scripts for the blockbuster video games Blood Omen II: Legacy of Kain, and Legacy of Kain: Defiance. Her urban fantasy, Summoning, was published by Nightshade Books in 2012, and the second book, Binding, is scheduled for release in Fall, 2014. Coyote Run, with Eric Elliott, was published in 2013. For Paw Print Studios she wrote and directed the horror comedy Valley of Fear, and the drama Far From the Sea.
Wolf’s plays have been produced on both coasts and five continents, and include The Terrible Experiment of Jonathan Fish, Walking on Bones, Daughter of France, and The Thousandth Night, which won the L.A. Drama Critic’s Circle Award, the Bay Area Theatre Critic’s Circle Award, and the London Fringe First. Her playwriting manual, Playwriting: The Merciless Craft, was published by Ambush Books in 2012.
Wolf studied fencing, and was on the 3-woman Lancaster University team that placed second in England. She earned a brown belt in Uechi-rhu Karate, and was the fifth woman to be knighted in the Society for Creative Anachronism, where she practiced broadsword fighting for seventeen years. She recently earned her third degree black belt in Toyama-rhu Iaido, the Japanese art of the sword.
Carol Wolf teaches in the Theatre Department at Foothill College, and lives in the Sierra Nevadas with her husband, two border collies, and a varying number of sheep.
